Stool 17

One week from today I will be setting up for The Barn Vintage Market!  I have been working like crazy to get pieces ready.  As my garage empties out…my dining room is filling up!

I love to take little “accent” pieces with me to these sales—small items that can sit in a corner, but don’t cost too much or take up too much real estate in a home.

Barn Sale 026

This little stool was picked up at an estate sale.  It was  perfect candidate for trying out a MMS Milk Paint sample I ordered earlier this summer.  I used two coats (and that used pretty much every drop), and followed it up with dark wax.

The jury is out on milk paint for me—I like the finish just fine, but I’m not crazy about the cost or the runny-ness.  I do love the MMS wax!  I have a few other samples to use on other projects.

I actually put something down before painting on the kitchen table!  That’s a big deal for me!

Barn Sale 027

Naturally I had to “embellish” the top a little.  This led to a long discussion over what number would be the “prettiest” to use.  My daughter thinks I’m nuts, but what else is new??

Barn Sale 028

What about you…do you think some numbers are prettier than others?

Love your little stool and the #17 is the perfect added touch. For some reason I love the #3, silly now that you have me thinking about it! Good luck at the sale.

looks awesome and just so happens 17 is a favorite number of mine! if you add my birthday and sawyer's birthday (8/9) together you get 17. emmy was born on the 17th (of january) and she was born at 11:17.

You make me laugh. :) 17 is a pretty number. I also like the number 4. It's just so sophisticated! =)

Love thi stool Korrie!
I have this MMS red color. Haven't tried it yet. I agree this paint is pricey. Robyn Story Designs has 10% off all MMS Paint, wax, extra, plus Free shipping .
Have a wonderful weekend!

Cute stool. I love that you added the numbers...in fact I was thinking of doing that to a stool I started working on last night. I like the number 7 myself. I'm not a huge fan of milk paint but then I haven't used it much. I do want to try MMS waxes though. I've heard great things about them.

I kind of like the number 2 for some reason. Maybe because I am the number 2 sister. I love little stool, too and yours is wonderful. xo Laura

nice red stool! I love numbers.. but I'm partial to even numbers... except the #3. my birthday is march 3

I have MMS tricycle and typewriter. I like them both. I used the tricycle on all my red display pieces I made for my shows.
so, the stool didn't chip? none of my stuff really did much chipping.
