An ORANGE door!

The time from inspiration to inception for this makeover was very short (for me). I got my October Better Homes & Gardens magazine on a Tuesday, I think, that showed an orange front door…and I loved it.

By Wednesday night I had my first coat of paint on the door!

Awesome AFTER

I’ve wanted to paint my front door forEVER, but I never could settle on a color. This is “Maple Leaf” from Behr (I had it mixed in the Behr Ultra paint). I used about 1 1/2 sample pots (four coats)—less than $6 for the paint.

My children think it’s cool; my husband is tolerant. He keeps asking if I’m going to repaint it red and green for Christmas.

You know what? I just might!

No, not really.

But I like it!

What about you? Could you paint your front door orange?

Korrie it's perfect. I must say I too saw that mag and thought about it but our house is blue so not going to work. Can't wait to see what you do for Christmas!

I really like the door orange. Your husband is funny. I couldn't paint my door orange. It wouldn't go with my house. I will go ck out the entries and vote. Good luck.

I saw that orange door, Korrie! Great color! I love how it looks on your house. Last year I painted the white front door on our old house black. It looked so much better. The condo we just moved into, the doors are all the same color ~ a cranberry red, which is fine with me. It goes well with the gray stone and siding and white trim.

Sarah did and I love it!! I would have never thought orange until she did hers. Both of your doors are so cute.

my front door IS orange. It was the first thing I had hubby paint after we moved here 6 years ago. Your door is prettier though.

Ha, Ha. Funny husband. That thought crossed my mind too. I think that's the color I have on a tall slim free standing cabinet and and half a wall (below a chair rail) in my kitchen. We have a knotty pine with beams type of kitchen and the warm orangey color just seemed to go with the rest of the wood. My front door is painted cobalt blue. I love it. It reminds me of hobbit homes.

beautiful door! I love it. Much better than the "before" white. :) I'm not sure I'd pick orange for a front door, but painting or staining it is definitely a good thing. Our front door is a beautiful deep stained wood.

Good luck in round 3!

I love it! I'm waiting to build my shutters so I can paint everything at one time and then I'm going with orange. Mine will be a more burnt orange as my house is dark gray/blue. Hope it turns out as great as yours.

Love the orange door. I used to have a yellow bungalow with a red door. Always loved it. Pops of color on front doors are great.

I voted. Sure hope I voted for you. It was tough to pick just 3.

Korrie, I usually hate orange, but wow, I love your door. Going now to cast my vote. Good luck.

It's so cute (?) if that's the right word, Korrie. It looks so fall-ish, you may have to paint it red for C'mas ;).

I voted!! Love the front door color! Our HOA frowns upon changing our door color :(

I LOVE IT! That is the exact same color I have in my sons room. He is a HUGH Texas Longhorn fan. If I thought I could get away with it, I'd paint my door the same color!

I admit I was skeptical about how it would look, not being an orange person myself, but you have sold me on it. I like it!! And the pumpkins look great next to it.

I hope my husband is equally "tolerant" with the paint color I put on our door. It's actually on the shutters but he doesn't want it on the door too. I love the orange!
