Last fall I was contacted by Shelby, who was interested in having me re-do a coffee table for her. She wondered, “Had I ever seen the round table at The Painted Hive?”
Have I ever!
Kristine’s beautiful furniture makeovers are an integral part of my Pinterest “Great Furniture” folder!
Shelby brought me this lovely coffee table which she had found on KSL.com, and asked me to refinish it ala “Painted Hive,” although slightly less distressed.
The base was painted in a Behr Ultra paint color-matched to Sherwin-Williams “Creamy” paint. The top is stained with three coats of Minwax Antique Walnut stain, and then I hand-distressed and glazed the base to bring a little “age” to the piece.
I love the way the white shelf looks on the bottom!
Shelby also brought me this little pine table to get a similar makeover.
She planned on replacing the knob herself, so her it sits—knobless…
…but I think it will be a great complement to the “Painted Hive” coffee table!

Love 'em. Make mine the more distressed please, and OH, if ever oh ever I had the opportunity to have you re-do a table for me, graphics on top-definitely!!!!!
~Bliss~
you did a fabulous job on her tables! kristine is super talented, just like you!
Great job, Korrie! I love it!
What an absolutely awesome job you did on both pieces!! You have given me some ideas, especially the coffee table!!
What I love most about the bottom shelves of both pieces is that neither one will show the dust as much. Then again...... maybe everyone else is better at dusting than I am..... ;) I just know my bottom shelf of my table sees a fair amount of dust....
I saw you were the winner at her blog today! So funny! You guys must be on the same wavelength or something!! lol
Love the tables- hers and the one you did!!
Great job! That is one of my inspiration photos too.
They're both beautiful! I don't think I'll ever get tired of dark stained tops~and you do it so well! Good work.
Both of the tables look great ~ I just love how paint can totally change a piece of furniture! Really nice!!
Very nice. I can't wait to re-do my living room with furniture of this style!

Absolutely gorgeous. I have done a table similar to this one too. Love the stained top and light base. I think Costco sold millions of them, and they all need transforming!
