I have finally showed off my laundry room…
…and the living room…
…and the workshop.
Is there a reason for this sudden burst of sharing, you ask?
Well, yes, there is.
Remember when we were trying to sell our home last fall? And then in the spring we decided it was not the right time?
Everything happens for a reason.
You see, my husband was recently offered his dream job in Seattle.
So we’re moving.
For real this time!
So if I’m a little MIA, you’ll understand. I’ve been spending a lot of time getting our home ready to sell. Is it breaking my heart to leave, after all the improvements we’ve made this year…especially my beautiful workshop?
Yes!
But is it exciting to think of a new adventure, a new home, new projects, and most importantly…a happy husband??
Yes, to that as well!
Wish us luck!
Oh wow! Congrats on the new job for your hubby and best wishes for your big move! We did a big move a year and a half ago for Hubs to go back to school and in 7 months he'll be done and we'll have another big move. Fun fun! : )
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Korrie! But ~ your workshop!!!! I can understand about the job related move though. We were looking to sell and downsize anyway when an opportunity to transfer {within the same company} was offered to my husband. Unfortunately, we couldn't just say we'd take it off the market {again} if we got no interest. For the right price, you'll get plenty of interest we found!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Korrie! I love that part of the country! So excited for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat??? Holy cow!!! Surprising, but very exciting news Korrie! Can't wait to hear more!
ReplyDeletehope you find another house soon to turn into a lovely home!
ReplyDeleteso so happy for you! i have always wanted to go there! and YES everything does happen for a reason! proof right here!
ReplyDeleteI hope your new adventure to your new home in a new area brings you all the joy possible. Hugs, Cindy
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Korrie! Congrats. I use to live in Seattle. It's a gorgeous city. What a great adventure for you and your family. But your wonderful workshop...at least you've been able to enjoy it a bit. I've moved more times than I can count so I know you're going to busy, busy, busy!
ReplyDeleteHolly
Oh dear, I know that feeling ... "Finally, I have my house just the way I want it, and someone else gets to enjoy it." The good things about your situation are 1. You are so talented you will have your new home perfect in no time, and will be able to share the journey with us! 2. You already have listed all the good things that will come of this move ... happy hubby being paramount, bless your heart!!
ReplyDeleteHow can it be his dream job? It's not here in Utah. :D
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you all!!! A new adventure!!
I moved 7 times in 6 years. :-)
ReplyDeleteMoving tip that I give everyone: Get McDonalds boxes for your breakables. Seriously, they're thicker because they ship everything frozen. Its like free extra padding. I only had 2 things break during all those moves.
Have fun!!
Welcome to my state... Washington! I can't wait to see what you create in your new place... you'll have tons of time since you'll probably want to spend all your time indoors to escape the rainy days :)
ReplyDelete~Chris
Think of it this way...another house to decorate. Fun, fun, fun.I too live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Once you get used to the rain it is beautiful here!
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is BIG news! Maybe you can squeeze the workshop in your carry on?? Seattle is a really clean and beautiful city! A happy adventure lies ahead :)
ReplyDeleteWow... all that decorating experience under your belt; you get to put to good use on a new home.
ReplyDelete...and of course, Wow! a happy husband.

Oh, Korrie, I am so excited for you. What a wonderful city to move to. I hate that you have to leave your wonderful new workshop, but I hope you sell your house quickly.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lauara
I don't know where you live now. Seattle is a big change maybe. Congrats to your hubs for the new job.
ReplyDeleteWho said there weren't any jobs? Whomever said that must not be really looking. That's so great he's been offered his dream job on top of it.
Things really do happen for a reason, sometimes we just can't see it for awhile but things work out.
Now that you've done all that work on your house it should sell quicker.
How exciting to look forward to finding your new home and fixing it up. Happy week
Congratulations! We just moved from Houston to Atlanta(area)in July. It was so hard to leave our home. I had put so much of myself into it. Especially my stairs. Oh - that killed me to leave them!!!
ReplyDeleteBut your right about how exciting the new adventure is, how exciting the new home is and how exciting it is to meet new and creative friends!
Good luck to you on your move. I truly wish you all the best.
How absolUtely exciting--conGRATs to the Mr!
ReplyDeleteSo many nEw adventures ahead for you!
--hey Korrie, make sure you take down anything you want to keep (I'm especially thinking of your fAb luggage shelves) or they will make them a part of the purchase of the house.
Can't wait to see your next house and all your new projects!
Catherine
So happy for you and wishing you ALL the very best of everything!
ReplyDeleteLove your house, but that shop--whoa! my dream!

Congrats to hubby on the dream job! We are in Seattle (well, just outside of it...) you will love it here, the people are great and it is only 3 hours from Canada. :) So, I saw 2 other bloggers here too so far, you will not be alone! Good luck on the move.
ReplyDeleteAhhh congrats!! How exciting! I guess you've already visited Seattle so you know how great it is...I'm from Washington and moved away for grad school after living with husband in Seattle a few years, and we both really miss it! You will love living up there! Plus (my DIY side coming out) Craigslist is awesome in Seattle - you will have so many thrifty project opportunities!
ReplyDeleteWow Korrie! The move is a great opportunity to redecorate!!! Awesome! I wish you the best of luck.
ReplyDeleteSusan
Congratulations! I am excited for you and your family. I wish you the Best of Luck! You'll have a fresh clean slate to decorate and hopefully another shop.

Congratulations! A happy hubby is worth a move :-) We continue to rent in order to keep our options open, and that is directly connected to my husband's career. We will buy again, but for now we're not convinced this location is 'the' location. Fresh starts are always so exciting!
ReplyDeleteI guess you are really glad you did move before. We are moving in a year and a half when my daughter graduates, but just down the road about 30 minutes, closer to hubby's job. I hope it all goes well for you. You are going to be sooooo busy.
ReplyDeleteI bet it is hard to leave your beautiful home ...and awesome workshop, but it sounds like it will be well worth it! So excited for this great opportunity for your husband, you, and your family! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Corrie, Love your blog, I've been reading through so many lovely posts! Good luck on the big move, hope you just breeze through it all! I am new following tonight and look forward to visiting again soon. xo Pam

How exciting! I hope your house sells quickly and you can move on to bigger and better things :)
