By Wednesday night I had my first coat of paint on the door!
Boring BEFORE
Awesome AFTER
I’ve wanted to paint my front door forEVER, but I never could settle on a color. This is “Maple Leaf” from Behr (I had it mixed in the Behr Ultra paint). I used about 1 1/2 sample pots (four coats)—less than $6 for the paint.
My children think it’s cool; my husband is tolerant. He keeps asking if I’m going to repaint it red and green for Christmas.
You know what? I just might!
No, not really.
But I like it!
What about you? Could you paint your front door orange?

I LOVE it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am not the biggest fan of orange usually, but your door looks amazing. I think I may have been converted! penny
ReplyDeleteKorrie it's perfect. I must say I too saw that mag and thought about it but our house is blue so not going to work. Can't wait to see what you do for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your orange front door! I think it will look fresh all year round!
ReplyDeleteI love the orange color you used Korrie! Orange is my favorite color! It looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSusan
BTW I voted and if the one I think is your is yours, I flipping love it! I can't wait to find out if it is!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I did OMTWI last summer and came in 3rd :) It was fun!

I really like the door orange. Your husband is funny. I couldn't paint my door orange. It wouldn't go with my house. I will go ck out the entries and vote. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI saw that orange door, Korrie! Great color! I love how it looks on your house. Last year I painted the white front door on our old house black. It looked so much better. The condo we just moved into, the doors are all the same color ~ a cranberry red, which is fine with me. It goes well with the gray stone and siding and white trim.
ReplyDeleteWonderful color for a door! Looks great with your house color. Hmmm, seasonal door painting, the possibilities are endless.Deb
ReplyDeletethat door is AWESOME!!! i absolutely love it!!
ReplyDeleteSoooooooooooo obvious what YOUR project is in the contest this week!;) lol
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to see the 'vote' this week. Left a note for the hostess. Will go back and check in again today.
Sarah did and I love it!! I would have never thought orange until she did hers. Both of your doors are so cute.
ReplyDeletemy front door IS orange. It was the first thing I had hubby paint after we moved here 6 years ago. Your door is prettier though.
ReplyDeleteHa, Ha. Funny husband. That thought crossed my mind too. I think that's the color I have on a tall slim free standing cabinet and and half a wall (below a chair rail) in my kitchen. We have a knotty pine with beams type of kitchen and the warm orangey color just seemed to go with the rest of the wood. My front door is painted cobalt blue. I love it. It reminds me of hobbit homes.
ReplyDeletebeautiful door! I love it. Much better than the "before" white. :) I'm not sure I'd pick orange for a front door, but painting or staining it is definitely a good thing. Our front door is a beautiful deep stained wood.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in round 3!
Your door looks great. I never would have thought of orange or had the guts to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteKim
I love it! I'm waiting to build my shutters so I can paint everything at one time and then I'm going with orange. Mine will be a more burnt orange as my house is dark gray/blue. Hope it turns out as great as yours.
ReplyDeleteLove the orange door. I used to have a yellow bungalow with a red door. Always loved it. Pops of color on front doors are great.
ReplyDeleteI voted. Sure hope I voted for you. It was tough to pick just 3.

LOVE the door! What a transformation! I have a can of red paint that I've been intending to use to paint my front door. You've inspired me!
ReplyDeleteThis is the color I picked out for our kitchen. I just love it! Your door is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI voted!!! All of the projects were great this week. Congrats to everyone!
ReplyDeleteKorrie, I usually hate orange, but wow, I love your door. Going now to cast my vote. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteIt's so cute (?) if that's the right word, Korrie. It looks so fall-ish, you may have to paint it red for C'mas ;).
ReplyDeleteI voted!! Love the front door color! Our HOA frowns upon changing our door color :(
ReplyDeleteI voted today and I'm pretty positive I voted for you. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the orange door! :D I have been enjoying more color this past year, so this is awesome to me. =) Very nice work!
ahhh, as with everything you do, it looks AWESOME...
ReplyDeleteNow, over to the voting booths....:)
Gosh, girl, you are doing so well.
OK, I voted and I KNOW, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the 3 was yours.
ReplyDeleteGOOD LUCK....XO bj
i love it! it's a subtle pumkin shade... it will go well for all seasons i think! : )
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT! That is the exact same color I have in my sons room. He is a HUGH Texas Longhorn fan. If I thought I could get away with it, I'd paint my door the same color!

ReplyDeleteThank you for linking this lovely post! I appreciate you, my friend!
I admit I was skeptical about how it would look, not being an orange person myself, but you have sold me on it. I like it!! And the pumpkins look great next to it.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter would LOVE this, her favorite color is orange. She wears it every day. I love it and think it fits with your artistic personality. :)
ReplyDeleteI really like your orange door. It really pops and looks great!
ReplyDeleteI hope my husband is equally "tolerant" with the paint color I put on our door. It's actually on the shutters but he doesn't want it on the door too. I love the orange!
