I have a confession to make.
Other than setting out a few pumpkins, I have never really decorated my front porch.
That’s a terrible thing for a blogger to say, isn’t it?
Well, that all changed this year (sort of).
A group of ladies came to see my house on a mini-“Parade of Homes” tour this week, and of course that sent me into a decorating tizzy.
Let’s just say I spent way too much money on pumpkins (that wouldn’t have happened if all my pumpkin plants hadn’t up and died on me this year).
The good thing is that my orange front door is right for the season!
I bought some new flowers for the one lonely flower pot. The ones I bought in the spring were all dead. I guess that happens when no one remembers to water them… (Yes, that’s a bike helmet in the background. My apologies.)
I made my own version of this now-famous sign from Ella Claire. I used different words (dessert, anyone??) and different fonts, but the idea came from her!
I nestled my sign, some grass clippings from my yard (the decorative kind…I really don’t let the lawn get that tall), and some pumpkins and gourds (the butternut squash and the acorn squash DID survive, despite their lack of water) along with some faux leaves in a cool old wooden box that I never know what to do with (usually it sits in a corner of my bedroom).
See what I mean about spending too much money on pumpkins?
Come on over for a visit! I might even make some donuts!
looks very nice and you have a perfect porch for decorating!!
ReplyDeleteoh the shame in never fall decorating your porch before!!! gasp! ;)
ReplyDeleteit looks awesome! the basket on the bench is my favorite part!
KOrrie I love your fall decor... and that fabulous front door!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so good. Now you have to do it every year.
ReplyDeleteHello Korrie! First time visiting your blog~~~~decor on the front porch caught my eye! I too, this year decorated my front porch more than usual! I think your front door color is charming and works with fall or spring! Very pretty and I am your newest follower! From one sweetie to another~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteSO pretty!!! I love the look of all of the pumpkins :) Great job1
ReplyDeleteI decorated last fall...but don't usually decorate my porch except for the usual wreath for the season.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with ORANGE right now, though!
...so I'm drawn to your door. I'm mesmerized by it in fact!
Pat
Your porch looks great ! Love the sign !
ReplyDeleteIt's very nice I have to admit. I guess I just don't understand why one must dress up one's porch for the changing season. Is it a reminder? So that when you leave the house you will look and say "oh YEAH! It's FALL!" Is it so my neighbors know how into the weather I am? I'll ponder this some more...
ReplyDeleteWell you certainly showed those ladies!
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
Beautiful! The orange door has always made me happy. :) Yes, the pumpkins are so expensive...one reason my front is not decorated yet. I do need to go through my bins and see what I can display.
ReplyDeleteLove the sign!! I'd also love the fresh donuts when they're ready.
xo
Pat
Korrie, you did a wonderful job. I think the bike helmet adds a nice touch :)
ReplyDeleteI always end up buying too many pumpkins. Its just hard to know when to quit.
Hugs,
Laura
Your porch looks perfect Korrie! And how could it not with that awesome door! And I love the bench all decked out for fall!
ReplyDeleteThe front porch is lovely and inviting! LOVE the orange door! And the sign is so cute! Happy Fall to you! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic! I just love the bench. So sweet. I haven't gotten any decorations out yet! Waiting for the heat to die down. Supposed to be 94 degrees this weekend :( Love your orange door too!
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely, and the door is the perfect color too!!
ReplyDeleteEat the pumpkin seeds and the pumpkin flesh. Birds will eat from the pumpkin rinds. I often get pumpkins for decoration after people discard them on the curb.
ReplyDeletePretty door and porch.
I really like your Fall decor for your porch. Very festively Fall :)
ReplyDeleteYour orange door took my breath away, literally! I wish Ace was open this early, I want a can of orange paint now!
Love it!
Have a wonderful Saturday,
~Diane
