25 Things

  1. I’m typing this while my kids eat breakfast, so I can eat breakfast after they leave the table.  I prefer to eat in peace!
  2. We did NOT get an offer on our house after showing it for the 3rd time Monday night.
  3. I’m miffed at these people who came and ate my cinnamon rolls and then didn’t have the courtesy to say, “You know, we changed our mind.”
  4. So we’re staying here.  That means I have a nearly uncontrollable urge to buy new furniture.
  5. Or renovate my laundry room.  Which shall it be?
  6. We had six people come down with Strep throat in the last two weeks.  Then I got it again.  Sometimes life isn’t fair!
  7. My favorite vintage-y consignment store closed in December.  I am still in mourning.
  8. I have a masters degree in Chemical Engineering.  There are days when I think, “For this I went to college??”
  9. But I wouldn’t trade being a wife and a mother for anything!
  10. One of my dreams is to have fresh flowers in my house all the time.  Normally I’m too cheap frugal to buy them, though.
  11. I stole my husband away from the girl he was on a date with.  But then, he stole me from the guy I was on a date with.  Worked out well, don’t you think??
  12. My last two babies were born at home.  Yes, I am one of those women.
  13. Frosted Mini Wheats is my breakfast cereal of choice.
  14. I didn’t plant my garden last year.  Still feel guilty over that one.
  15. I think I want to buy my husband a smoker for his birthday.  Because I want one.
  16. I don’t drink soda pop.  Not because I think it’s bad for you (although I do), but because I can’t stand carbonation!
  17. I really want to build furniture.  But I’m scared to try.
  18. I love to get mail.  I think it’s a leftover from my pre-e-mail college days.
  19. I think fuzzy socks are one of the greatest inventions ever.
  20. Right along with electric mattress pads!
  21. Three years ago I was in a car accident that shattered my right wrist.  I am grateful for the use of my hand every day.
  22. My favorite people in the world are my brothers and sisters.  I hope that will be true for my kids when they grow up!
  23. I want to travel someday.  But I’d prefer if someone else did all the planning for me.
  24. I’ve lived outside of Montana for longer than I lived in Montana now, but it will always be home to me.
  25. I think “capable” is a beautiful word.  I hope people think I am.

Ah, you made my day! Loved this post, and yes, I believe you are "more than capable". If you had 2 children born at home you are like Superwoman! BTW, my husband is getting a workbench, bc I need to borrow it. ;-)

I love lists and to read lists....
maybe its easier for my brain to comprehend.LOL
I, like you...want "peace" while I eat. Cause alot of the time I think I should own one of those black & white striped shirts & a loud whistle to blow!
My first thought is... to do your laundry room...then furniture. ;~)
Plurge...buy yourself some flowers.
So...funny about the gift buying.
"Real" mail is always nice.
I am one of "those" women too...I had 6 at home...2 at hospital...would not trade home for hospital.
I am living in your "home" state...since 1987...wow thats a along time. We love it here. 8~)
Thanks for sharing you life with "us".

Yep. Capable, loving, amazing, industrious, vivacious, sweet, strong, kind, and everything in between! Sorry you've had a rough couple of weeks with sickness and lame home "lookers" (not buyers). Love you tons and can't wait to hang out at dinner group next week.

P.S. You can TOTALLY build furniture. Not sure why that intimidates you. You are wonder woman!!

I often look at myself and say "you went to graduate school for what?", but like you, I love what I do. Of course you can build furniture. You can do anything. Sorry that you are feeling icky. I hope you feel better soon.
Hugs,
Laura

Korrie--you're so funny!
-Eat in peace, huh--I asked my mom who answered "YES!" in a split second. I must still be a noisy kid, while I'm here with her, she still eats alone.
-Could NOT stay here with her in the "antarctic" as it seems, without an electric mattress pad.
-When I was still home in AZ--I celebrated the end of every work-week with a bouquet of flowers and a car wash!
-I'M planning your next trip! Come visit me for a long weekend and we'll build some furniture together!
-You didn't bury St Joe did you? Remember I was a Realtor for many yrs--we always qualified "buyers" as Prospects, Suspects, and Tourists.
-I LOVE the word capABLE! And also LOYAL.
you are so fun to follow--
Catherine

Thanks for sharing your 'list' with us! <3

If you can throw that suitcase wall and stairwell together you most certainly CAN build stuff! Just takes some practice.

About 15 years ago (before I had my tonsils out at 32!) the state of Colorado labeled me as a 'carrier' I had strep so often (I had become antibiotic resistant!). I feel for ya!
Oh, and you so need to re-do that laundry room and blog about it! Can't wait!

Ha, I LOVED this post, especially #11.
I like to travel with people who have already been to the destination so that they know where all the good places to visit are and all the bad places to avoid are.

Korrie,

I enjoyed reading your list/post! Fabulous!
I'm sorry that the buyers are not buying. :( and that you have been sick TWICE!
Jump in there and build something! You are more than capable!

Great post! I can't imagine having babies at home ~ you are really a supermom. I absolutely LOVE having fresh flowers in my home too but I don't buy them as often as I used to...wondering why. I also love funky socks! :-)

You could build furniture ~ no doubt in my mind at all. Go ahead and do your laundry room and for sure, buy yourself some furniture!

So sorry everyone's been so sick...hoping it ends soon. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks so much for sharing. Okay, now I'm mad at those people! How dare they eat your cinnamon rolls and not buy your house. You can build furniture...I promise...if I can do it so can you. Just try. If you can get a degree in Chemical Engineering, then you can do this too.

I think you should start building furniture today. What's holding you back?! Oh well on the house thing. The markets are not great.

My status update on Facebook was "Never underestimate the power of an empty home." (My oldest has gone back to a traditional school and it was my first morning in peace and quite)....so your eating breakfast along really resonates with me! Had fun reading this!

I'm reading this while eating my Frosted Mini Wheats - yup, every morning! I loved reading this post. I really feel like I got to know you a little better. You are definitely one of the most capable and nicest people out there! And chemical engineering - wow!

I think you are!

You are a chemical engineer? If you can do that then girl you can build furniture. My son is taking some special classes starting next year in high school for engineering. He wants to be an aeronautical engineer. Did I spell that right? I have eaten instant oatmeal for about 5 yrs every morning. I use to eat a banana one until they quit making it and now it is cinnamon and apples. I drink skim milk with carnation instant breakfast in it too. I usually eat by myself because I have to be at work so early and I am the first one up on weekends. And last...you are very capable. That is why I think you can make furniture. Hurry go make some so I can see it and take a big picture of it. :)

Sorry to hear you did not get that offer on your home.
Love your list.
My 3 boys are almost all grown, and I never regretted staying home with them.
I live in Alberta and try to get to Montana at least once a year. It is a beautiful State.

I love how honest you are. :)
You got strep again? That is terrible! D:
Now I have to say it: oh, she's one of THOSE women. xD Just kidding. You crack me up!
I'm sorry they didn't buy the house. :( I feel very annoyed at them. >:L
I like real mail, too. :) And also Frosted Mini Wheats. The blueberry ones, especially.
I vote for the laundry room. ;)
Love you, cute girl.

I absolutely loved your 25 things. Such a fun way to get it know your quirkiness. There are incredibly strange stuff.
A smoker?
But now I think I want one.

Hope you got to eat your delicious cereal in peace.

What a great list to read! I do NOT drink pop because I don't like carbonation either. I will drink it occasionally, but not a preference.

and having 2 kids at home! You da woman! I had both of mine by c-section in the hospital.

We have other similarities, I guess that's why blogland is such a great place. Finding people who can relate. Just keep on inspiring me! ;^)

Fun sharing! Re #17... Just peruse the Ana White site, and read all of those "save yourself money" words, and see all the pictures!! Then you will not be able to help yourself. You will look down and have a hammer & nails in your hands and not know where they came from! At least that is why I stay away from that site :)

Hi, enjoy your blog very much. I read about the strep throat thing and thought i would share about my sister. Her daughter kept getting strep throat at least once a year. Finally the dr recommended the family to be tested to see if any one was a carrier. My sister never caught strep throat, but it turns out she was a carrier and needed to be treated. Since then her daughter has not had strep throat no more. I just thought maybe that could be the case here. best wishes
