Poinsettias, Reindeer, & Suitcases (oh my!)

I love poinsettias!  My husband and I got married in December (our 17th anniversary is almost here!), and my wedding bouquet was evergreens and poinsettias.  I love them in all their variations…red, pink, white, variegated, and everything in between.  There is an amazing greenhouse not too far from us (J&J Nursery) that grows acres of poinsettias every year, and I happily spend an hour…or two… there each year choosing a few favorites to bring home with me.

This year, I bought poinsettias to dress up the suitcase wall (in red, pink, white, and variegated!)…

…they have to share space with my small collection of reindeer (since I sold the bookshelves that were there home last year!)

The gold reindeer is this year’s addition to the collection—I found him at Tai-Pan Trading.

But mostly I don’t even remember where they came from anymore!

A few glittery birds perch on the suitcases as well.  I am a sucker for fat birds!

Here’s hoping I can keep my beautiful poinsettias alive all the way through January!

  1. Gorgeous wall! How did I miss this? I want to peek into the suitcases to see what is inside! At least play with the buckles... :) Love it.

  2. Looks really good, Korrie! My husband would knock everything off the wall in one trip! I hope it all stays put. Were you clever and glued everything down? With all your chicks, I bet you did. : )

  8. I so need to get my rear in gear and get inspired! Since we missed the window for going and getting a fresh tree we have to put up our fake one this year and arrrgh! Just not feeling it!

Sarah was here this weekend and showed us how to make the funnest snowflakes to hang from my ceilings. Very easy, cute, and cheap. :)

I've always been intimidated by poinsettias. I just know one of my derelict dogs will eat the leaves and die! :) Hmmmmm. JUST KIDDING!!!
