The Way They Were Meant To Be

I have tried my hand at a few different image transfer methods, but I haven’t been terribly successful.  After several failed attempts, I used my overhead projector method to make this set of bar stools:

…but I was never terribly happy with them.

THESE, however….

…turned out much more like what I had in mind!

The images all came courtesy of the Graphics Fairy.

I painted the bases of the stools with DIY chalk paint.

…and I made the image transfers with my inkjet printer and a transparency sheet!

…more on that to come!

  6. They turned out great, Korrie! I just ordered a tool that Dee at Lapin Life uses for her transfers and I'm looking forward to trying that out. I kind of gave up on the other methods I read about when they just didn't work for me {and I'm sure it was me that was the issue}.

  15. They turned out great! I can't wait to see how you did the transfers. I have some yucky blonde oak barstools that I want to redo, but haven't had any great ideas..maybe I can do something like this. I was thinking of doing a vintage number on each, 1-4. Anyway, great job!

  33. I just found your blog via My Repurposed Life...great makeover on the stools.

I too am looking forward to your "how-to" because I am looking for an easier transfer "method". I have used graphite paper and a Sharpie, but it is much more difficult to do on small designs. I will be back to check it out!
